Intervention For Media-Addicted America

Stop logging on to Facebook. Stop logging on to Twitter. Stop quoting the FakeNews.

The FakeNews NEEDS to exploit us to stay alive. The American people need to simply band together, by way of platforms like Parler and Gab, mismanaged as they may be, but more importantly, the old-fashioned way.

The very best alternative to anti-American terrorist platforms like Twitter is to build your own address books, the old-fashioned way. Sure, pen and paper is ideal, but it can be as simple as a Word-Processing document.

Right now, America is addicted to a self-destructive pattern of addiction to the AntiSocial media and the FakeNews. This is an addiction that, just like the cigarette industry, has coaxed and fostered since the first radio tower started broadcasting in the United States.

Christians, or American Loyalists/Patriots, have been fighting the battle all wrong.

We, all of us, each individual American, has the power to starve the axis of evil of Silicon Valley which seems, at the moment to have completely derailed our Constitution, in the way of the illegitimate, fraudulent 2020 Election.

It’s not that we Americans are stupid, per se, however, just as a Cocaine addict destroys his body because of the force of habit and chemical addiction, we Americans are reacting, rather than responding, to the problem. NYU Professor Neil Postman wrote of this phenomenon in a roundabout way in his generally wholesale condemnation of the media entitled, Amusing Ourselves To Death.

The solution is ever so simple, and virtually effortless, for those of us who are beginning to awaken from this Pavlov’s Dog-like trance.

As Dr. Norman Vincent Peale says in The Power Of Positive Thinking, the only way to stop – is to stop.

For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.

Romans 7:15

Many pastors take umbrage at the mere mention of words like “subconscious,” or “unconscious.” They believe, at least in thought, if not in heart, that since they possess long-studied head-knowledge of Holy Scriptures, that they are immune to all manner of addiction themselves. Such is a delusion straight from Satan, or perhaps the hubris that grows out of becoming too comfortable with one’s role as a pastor.

Clearly, as American cities burn, and more threats pour in daily from the FakeNews and BigTech, a rational, God-ward being would ask themselves, “Why am I continuing to engage with technology which is clearly designed to exploit me and those God has placed under my Pastoral Care?”

That’s what a rational pastorate, in a rational America would ask himself. That’s the question that a rational crack addict would ask himself before taking another hit, when his nostrils have all but disintegrated, and he is lying half-alive in Mayor Lightweight’s inner-Chicago gutter. At least, to the extent that you might consider Crack Cocaine a highly effective technology, albeit a fatal one.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

Call it the “flesh nature” that makes us do what we do not ourselves wish to do; or call it the “subconscious,” or call it the collection of loosely connected organisms comprising the Human Body, the same way the Body of Christ is composed of each true follower of Jesus Christ.

The Salvation Army often comes under attack because the thing it’s best at is breaking destructive habits of the flesh, usually in the way of drug addictions, but also in the ways of ignorance of poverty. The common link in all such self-destructive habits is that they are all products of deeply-engrained battles of the soul (or what psychologists label “cognitive dissonance” between what we know is best for us, and what that unruly flesh nature compels us to do, the same way the Israelites forged a Golden Calf while Moses was trying his darndest to talk to God on Mount Horeb. And every pastor worth their Salt and Light knows that the response from God was swift and strong.

The electrical, perhaps jolting lightning bolt, of Wisdom from God, disciplined the flesh-failure Israelites in the way that Wisdom demanded they be disciplined, in order to set the Israelites straight.

At least, if you think the Charlton Heston Interpretation of how we received God’s Ten Commandments is plausible, it took a lightening bolt to etch into those tablets the painfully obvious, which the slow and steady rot of God’s chosen People, God’s Exceptional Nation, had all but bannned – cancelled – shadow-banned – censored – DELETED, from the minds of the Israelites through years of the rigors of oppression. A fear and misinformation campaign, a demoralization campaign, a bullying campaign by the Pharaoh.

It took something like a lightening bolt to etch into those tablets – which were something like the hardened hearts and heads of the Israelites’ – or subconscious force of habit – whatever you want to call it – to break the patterns of behavioral evil (or the Flesh Nature) which the Israelites were helplessly addicted to, just as surely as you are addicted to the FakeNews, be it Facebook or CNN. Just as surely as the cocaine addict needs to be tackled before he takes that last, deadly snort.

Regrettably, United States laws preclude me from tackling you, or taking an axe to your computer. And frankly, it would be very difficult for me to function without the 1% of functions that my Apple iPhone performs, which actually benefit me rather than harm me.

But this is an intervention, though it may only work on the 1% of Americans remaining who still possess thinking, right minds not made unruly and completely untamed by a flesh nature inflamed by the wily but deadly force of media addiction. That media addiction takes the form of Facebook for some, and Amazon grocery purchases for others. Your “suppplier” might be a desktop PC at work, perhaps in the parsonage; or it might be your cellular telephone.

The language of psychology and the language of God to his people really are in more agreement than the media is constantly trying to convince us. In fact, the tremendous world built by our Heavenly Father is a god of Order, whose intention is to prosper us, and not to harm us, despite what I call the Principality of Media’s perpetual assaults on our God-designed instinct to worship Him, and our instinctive understanding that Our Father Who Art In Heaven tells us what’s best for us, among other reasons, because it’s what’s best for us.

At this critical junction in the history of God’s Exceptional Nation, the force of habit has overridden our ability to hear Our Master’s Voice, by bombarding our flesh nature with vibrations, man-mader, artificial, electronic vibrations, which overwhelm us at our very core, sending shockwaves by means of every sensory organ we have, such that we are terrorized and intimidated to the point that the average citizen of God’s Exceptional Nation is thus driven to distraction, a phenomenon which might be underestimated by being characterized as “sensory overload,” from a tiny percentage of people who exert maximum control over the machines we’re addicted to, who believe, in their fatalistic and evil, Atheistic Marxist WorldView, that they can retaliate against God’s exceptional nation by “controlling the means of production,” and selling YOU as a commodity to advertisers, really, to Satan.

My late friend Chuck Colson wrote in How Now Shall We Live that the ANSVA formula for selling people as commodities is a warped view of the Gospel, whereby evil men present a warped view of the Gospel, which merely substitutes “Jesus” with “product.”

The solution is painfully obvious to anyone with a thinking mind. Our greatest enemy as Americans right now isn’t the communists running the media – it’s Ourselves.

The only way to stop – is to stop.

Call it the proverbial “force of habit,” call it the “flesh nature.” But here’s the bottom line.

My prescription for you: just stop. I’m not saying you need to go cold-turkey, though that would be best.

Take the question to God, and do it daily, with the clear understanding that God’s Exceptional Nation’s edification and even survival, both here, and hereafter, depends on us asking ourselves, and God, this question.

If you don’t believe in God as I do, take the question to your innermost soul, and persist in asking it for the answer. You will find, in any case, that the God-given fingerprints upon our soul has already given you the answer to this most pressing question. Like all of life’s greatest challenges, you may find that this question already contains its own answer, however disguised within; like all life’s greatest challenges, you may find that it is merely your pastoral calling’s greatest opportunity in disguise.

Thank God for providing the solution to you een before he reveals its fullness to you, and thank God every day for freeing God’s captive exceptional nation from the bondage of media addiction, both FakeNews and BigTech.

And, though God bids me not swear by God or man, I can assure you without fear of error that he who seeks will find; for him who knocks, the door will be opened for him.
